Kodiak Roofing & Waterproofing is thrilled to have been a part of the construction process for the new UC Davis Medical Center – North Hospital Addition, in downtown Sacramento.
This project is part of an ongoing safety renovation to meet new California earthquake laws set in place for 2020.
The “North Hospital Addition” is the largest of several seismic-safety projects on the university’s 140-acre Sacramento campus. Six stories high, the building will house 12 hospital-based departments and allow for the demolition of the oldest wing of the hospital once completed.
Our team of professional roofers we’re heavily involved in the completion of the North Hospital under tight time constraints requiring long hours. Often, our team’s hard work goes unnoticed, which is why it’s very rewarding when contractors we work alongside recognize the complexity and difficulty of our work.
The difficulty of this project in terms of design and schedule constraints created a lot of pressure for the Kodiak team both in the office and out in the field. In appreciation, the contractor, Turner Construction, shared that the owner’s team watched the progress of our ACM panel installation from adjacent buildings, and the UC Davis general superintendent for construction gave our installers enthusiastic praise:
“I really love the way the panels turned out. They did a really great job of lining up all of the joints. I have been hearing from my staff all week about how great they look. I know these guys have been working hard, so please let them know it has paid off!”

You can bet that the Turner Construction team is glad they chose Kodiak to do the work! We’ve helped them shine for their client and provide a safer, future-ready building in our community, and that’s the best reward we could hope for!
We want to personally thank the entire field team of Kodiak employees who have made this project, including PVC roofing and ACM wall panels, look so good! Special recognition and thanks to Dustin Miller, Miguel Dominguez, and Jose Leyva for their outstanding effort!
