Kodiak Roofing & Waterproofing is a strong supporter of higher-level education and resources for students of all ages. Every year, Kodiak Roofing donates to support local engineering groups in the academic community to foster learning and encourage the development of new ideas in the engineering industry.
This year, Kodiak Roofing is happy to have supported the Chico State University Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE) team in the annual Baja SAE competition. This competition features engineering students from across the globe tasked with designing and building a single-seat all-terrain vehicle. Students must function as a team to design, engineer, build, test, promote and most importantly, compete in a variety of off-road challenges.
Kodiak’s donation to the Chico State SAE Baja team helped fund the engineering of this year’s all-terrain vehicle “Buggy Smalls”. The Chico State SAE team competed in the SAE Baja this past May and were able to thrive in events taking the podium for the first time ever in program history. The team were able to achieve a third-place finish in ‘hill climb’ and a second-place finish in ‘acceleration’ among 97 competing schools. Kodiak would like to congratulate the Chico State SAE team on their historic podium titles. We know these promising students are going to do great things in the future and make a big impact.
